Note from the Commissioner
October 6, 2010
The adult hockey league season is nearly upon us. I have seen many of you down here getting back into hockey shape by playing the drop-in sessions over the last few weeks. As usual there are a few new faces at the rink, a few faces that have moved away, and lots of familiar faces that are a year older.
The sixth season of league hockey begins next week with ‘C’ league on Tuesday, ‘A’ league on Wednesday, and ‘B’ league on Thursday. All games will be at either 9:15pm or 10:45pm. We will have 4 ‘A’ teams, 4 ‘B’ teams, and 5 ‘C’ teams. For the first time ever we will have an all women’s team in ‘C’ league.
Tonight (Wednesday) is the A league draft. The captains in ‘A’ league this fall are Scot Blair, Ryan Ulvin, Marc Nastase, and Leif Haugen.
The ‘B’ and ‘C’ drafts are tomorrow night. The ‘B’ captains are Gerry Freisen, Bob Ohlson, Sean Kelly, and Colby Shaw. The ‘C’ captains are Will Friedner, Mike Atlee, Rich Dorman, and Dean Whitworth.
The registration deadline for league was October 5. If you did not register and still want to play you must contact me directly BEFORE the drafts begin. I will be at the rink all day 863-2477.
The rosters and schedules will be posted at the rink and on this website shortly following each draft. Also, the league registration dues this fall are $30.
Finally, as well as the league standings and stats, I will be posting a weekly blog on this website with all the highlights, lowlights, goals, gossip, follies and fun from each week of league.
