Adult Hockey
Again this season the Whitefish Parks & Recreation Department will offer the popular adult drop-in hockey programs (age 18 and over) under the A, B and C skill classifications. The Women’s program (enrolled high school freshman and up) returns on Sunday evenings. Again we are offering a 40+ program for all hockey players over 40 years old. This program runs on Sunday evenings. Adult hockey games are played as a “pick up” style, no contact, no checking. Beginners are welcome in the ‘C’ program and Women’s program. Contact the Stumptown Ice Den @ (406)863-2477 for details.
We also offer two adult league sessions that last last ten weeks each. ‘C’ league plays on Tuesdays at 9:15pm and 10:45pm. ‘A’ league plays on Wednesdays at 9:15pm and 10:45pm. ‘B’ league plays on Mondays at 9:15pm and 10:45pm. Players will be drafted by predetermined captains on October 3rd and 4th 2012. League games will begin October 8, 2012. The rink will open on September 8, 2012, so players will only have 3 weeks to register for league play. What League are you?
If you are new to the area and are unsure what league to sign up for, here’s a few clips to see the level of play in A, B & C league.
“A” League
Primarily players who played on a high level in high school, as well as many that played college, Junior or professional hockey.
“B” League
Players who typically learned as adults and are still gaining in ability, advanced women skaters, and some adult men who are a bit over the hill from the ‘peak’ of their career.
“C” League
Adult players who are typically beginner skaters, average-level women players, or men of particularly ‘advanced’ age.
